For 1999 the VT600C engine was revised with a single carburettor, new cylinder heads and intake manifold, trading a little peak power for cleaner running while keeping the 583 cc twin-plug V-twin character. The chassis, four-speed gearbox, chain drive and hardtail-look rear suspension were unchanged, so it remained one of the lowest and easiest-to-ride cruisers in Honda's range.
